Dream Three: A Dream of Warning
Dream Three: A Dream of Warning
The Dream:
I remember this dream vividly. It was a couple of years maybe, before Covid. I was standing outside, looking across vast stretches of green grassland, nothing else in sight. Suddenly, an object appeared in the sky—a white cylinder-shaped object, descending slowly as if it were landing. Written along its side were words in a language I could not read.
I watched as it touched the ground. Whatever this was it was landing slowing, and once it landed it was as if it connected to the earth, the sound it made was like unto a bank vault locking, but a thousand times louder. Then gases began to spew from it, and I ran for safety. As I fled, I saw animals dying, I remember monkeys falling from the trees as they swung from one vine to the next. It appeared the air itself was dangerous.
When I reached home, I began sealing the cracks in the walls with duct tape, trying to protect myself from the unseen danger outside. I knew duct tape couldn’t resist the gases, but I needed to try something. The television was on, only to see every news station in the world reporting exactly what I had witnessed. The feeling of urgency, fear, and responsibility was overwhelming.
Reflection:
This dream left me with a sense of warning and preparation. It reminded me that sometimes, events unfold in ways we cannot fully control or understand, but we are responsible for protecting what ours, and being alert. The image of the world reacting together made me think about interconnectedness and the consequences of events beyond our control.
Scripture Connection:
When I thought about the cylinder descending from the sky, the first scriptures that came to mind were:
“And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.” (Revelation 19:16)
“His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.” (Revelation 19:12)
These verses reminded me that no matter how mysterious or frightening a dream may feel, Christ is in control. His authority, knowledge, and power extend far beyond human understanding, and nothing happens outside of His will.
Broader Reflection / Teaching:
This experience aligns with John 14:26, which says:
“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
I believe this is why scripture often comes to me in connection with my dreams. The Holy Spirit brings His Word to mind guiding me, comforting me, and sometimes warning me. Dreams paired with scripture become a form of communication from Yahweh—inviting reflection, teaching, and discernment.
Over time, I’ve learned not to fear or dismiss these experiences. Instead, I seek Yahweh in prayer, asking Him for understanding, wisdom, and peace. Scripture gives me a foundation, a lens through which to view what I see in the night. Being a dreamer is not just about the visions we see—it is about recognizing the voice of God in the midst of them, seeking His guidance, and allowing His Word to illuminate the path ahead.
