Dream Four: A Dream of Protection and Precious Fruit

Dream Four: A Dream of Protection and Precious Fruit

The Dream:
I was leaving a store plaza when, ahead of me, I saw tankers—hundreds of them—riding down the street. You could see them coming for miles. Each tanker had a soldier sitting on top of it. They were not American; I knew in the dream they were from another country, and they were not of European descent.

Immediately, I thought to myself that I needed to get to my children.  I rushed on a bus as fast as I could to get each of them. I could feel how frantic I was in the dream. It’s like I knew something was about to take place. I didn’t know what was about to happen, but I felt like danger was coming.  I had to find what mattered to me most in this world. Once I had gathered all of them, I found a vacant library, and we hid there. By that time, it was nighttime.  I ended up outside the library. I then saw lights approaching in the dark; my fear grew as I realized it was the same soldiers, the same tankers. I immediately was afraid, wondering how they found us there. I thought I found the perfect place for us. This time, they weren’t after us in the way I had first feared. All they wanted was something I hadn’t noticed before, that I had with me.  A basket of shiny fruit I had been carrying. The fruit shone so brightly it looked like glass, colored glass, and I hadn’t even realized I had it.

The soldiers got out of the tankers and began walking toward me, me visibly noticing the fruit basket in my hands, and that’s when I woke up. I’m not sure if I gave them the fruit or not. I always seem to wake up before the conclusion of my dreams. I never get to see the ending of one or how it would have played out.

Reflection:
This dream felt layered with symbolism. On one level, it spoke to my instinct to protect my children no matter what. When I thought about gathering them during the chaos, the scripture came to mind:

Psalm 127:3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward

This reminded me that children are a blessing from God and that protecting and nurturing them is a sacred responsibility. On another level, the shiny fruit I carried represented spiritual blessings and gifts God has placed in my life—gifts we may not even realize we have until they are sought after or tested.

Other scriptures also came to mind, emphasizing God’s guidance and the value of the fruit He gives us:

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22-23)
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.” (John 15:16)

These scriptures reminded me that God places gifts, blessings, and spiritual fruit in our lives, sometimes quietly, and calls us to recognize, nurture, and protect them, because we know that Satan comes to kill, steal, and destroy, which

can go for our God-given gifts as well.

Broader Reflection / Teaching:
This dream illustrated the importance of recognizing and stewarding the blessings God gives us—both in our children and in the spiritual gifts He places in our hands. It reminded me that even when fear or challenges appear, God equips us to protect what is precious and to bear fruit for His glory.

It encouraged me to pay attention to the treasures God has entrusted to me, to protect them, and to walk in faith that His blessings are secure. The dream also served as a reminder that the fruits of the Spirit shine brightly in our lives, and God’s hand guides us in caring for what He has placed in our path.
